Getting the Message out…

I’ve been busy as usual over the past couple weeks, attending county Republican meetings, city chamber coffees, Olathe Old Settlers, and other neighborhood/local meetings. Add to those having made public comment at three city council meetings regarding annual budgets and exceeding revenue neutral rates. My message to City Councils is the same as relates to the Johnson County budget:

  • Residents, especially seniors on fixed incomes, are hurting from rising property taxes.

  • We can maintain good county and city services while eliminating wasteful spending.

  • The time is now for the County BOCC and City Councils to exercise financial responsibility in administering to budgets.

Of those council meetings where I spoke, nowhere was resident turnout greater than the SRO crowd at the Overland Park council meeting, and nowhere were resident comments any stronger than at Prairie Village.

I would like to share my message and vision in your community. Please reach out directly that we may arrange a visit with your group.

Gene
