Public Budget Hearing thoughts…

I’m estimating +/- 150 dissatisfied (to say the least) taxpayers at tonight’s meeting at Olathe Conference center. Main comments from public:

• Tax burden is seriously impacting seniors

• Board spending has a lot of waste within it

• Cash reserves are in excess

• We need new commissioners if they aren’t willing to address the budget

I made public comment focused on first two items and stated my commitment to cutting the excess spending while preserving services. There’s definitely work to be done!
